Stretching over 70 miles along the southern coast of Queensland, Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world, and is on the World Heritage List. Teeming with wildlife and with many unique plant types, the island hosts a diverse ecosystem incorporating long uninterrupted white beaches, tall majestic rainforests and crystal clear freshwater lakes. Look out for the local dolphin, dugong and turtles or for whales en route to Antartica between August and October.
