Treat your wife to a flower festival trip on Australian honeymoons

September 1st, 2010

Newlyweds might like to celebrate their success with a trip to the largest flower festival in the Southern Hemisphere.

Tourism Australia recommends visiting Floriade, which begins on September 11th until October 10th in Canberra.

The event will showcase more than one million bulbs and annuals, which will be blooming throughout the spectacle.

It could be an ideal occasion to take in on Australian honeymoons and more than 375,000 people attend the free festival each year.

Moreover, the publication noted: "Australia's creativity, innovation and immense love of outdoor spaces is evident at Floriade, where each year a different theme inspires the displays."

But there is more than just flowers, with entertainment, culinary offerings and garden workshops all available to see.

Visitors down under may also be interested in taking in vineries and Robert Joseph, writing for the Telegraph, recently noted that Aussie winemakers are "second to none" when it comes to welcoming tourists to their cellars.
