It may not be the kind of culture that immediately springs to mind for anyone about to head down under on their jollies but a taste of Cuba can soon be sought by anyone staying in Brisbane this autumn.
Jet-setters planning holidays to Australia will be able to enjoy performances by the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, which will be putting on shows in the country for the first time in nearly ten years, Nine News reports.
The three-act Don Quixote – a fictional work by Miguel de Cervantes – will be held between September 24th and October 3rd at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and chief executive of the hall John Kotzas observed: "The dancers combine a Russian-style classical training with Latin flair and are in demand the world over."
Other gigs taking place at QPAC this year include Los Van Van, Engelbert Humperdinck and the Brisbane Festival 2010.
