Cairns Buskers Festival could be ideal for Australian holidays

September 6th, 2010

Individuals who are travelling down under later this month might like to check out a street performance display.

The Cairns Buskers Festival could be the ideal event to visit on Australian holidays, with more than 40 shows set to occur.

It takes place from September 22nd to the 26th and features an array of entertainers, from comics to musicians.

According to festival director Melinda Norris, it is fun for everybody and with three venues, it gets bigger every year.

She added: "Come and experience a world of comedy, madness and mayhem as the hottest acts from Australia and around the world hit the streets."

It first began in 2006 at the Esplanade section of the city and was designed to showcase the local talent.

One of the new additions to the spectacle is the One Night Stand event which opens this year's extravaganza at Rydges Tradewinds on September 22nd.
