Keen anglers intent on pursuing their hobby while on vacation may find that their tastes are more than catered for at Lake Rotoroa Lodge on New Zealand’s South Island.
According to Bill McDermott of the resort, speaking to Fly, Rod & Reel magazine, fishing enthusiasts planning New Zealand holidays may like to book their trips for the winter season, as waterways are closed from April 1st until October 1st.
"We have direct access to more than 20 rivers with many more accessible only by helicopter, making for some fantastic sightseeing as well as great fishing opportunities," he observed, recommending that people leave their flies at home as the guides have one for every possible occasion.
And, although catching the biggest fish is not guaranteed, Mr McDermott did state that the chance to land the "biggest wild brown trout" is always there.
But, of course, fishing is not the only activity available at this lodge – guests can also participate in hunting, quad biking or even book a massage.
