Sydney waterfront is currently home to a Giant Rugby Ball, installed by 100% Pure New Zealand as a marketing tool to promote the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
The doors to the attraction will be opened to those on Australia holidays and others on September 2nd and final preparations are currently underway to welcome people in with a ceremony at dawn, attended by dignitaries from both countries and the Maori king Kiingi Tuheitia Paki.
Kevin Bowler, chief executive of Tourism New Zealand, noted that this development will showcase what the nation has to offer.
"The ball and surrounding activities will present New Zealand as an exciting holiday destination for Australians, both now and in 2011," he remarked.
One activity that jet-setters heading to the area could enjoy is the 2011 Ellerslie International Flower Show, held in March in Christchurch.
Next year's event will feature a Pure Indulgence garden designed by Ben Hoyle, one of the main exhibitors.
