Drive to one of the North Island’s coastal wonders with its dense forests, mountainous terrain, and spectacular sea views. Relax in the natural warm waters of Hot Water Beach, or admire the region’s diverse flora and fauna along its many walking trails.

Day 2 to 3 - Coromandel to Rotorua (220km)
Journey through the natural thermal region of the Bay of Plenty en route to Rotorua for a relaxed two nights stay. Visit one of the many thermal reserves and marvel at their bubbling mud pools, erupting geysers and cascading silicon falls.

Day 4 - Rotorua to Taupo (80km)
Continuing through this thermal active region to Lake Taupo, formed as a result of one of the greatest volcanic eruptions recorded. En route take in more natural phenomena at the Craters of the Moon, or the champagne pools at the Wai-o-Tapu Thermal Reserve. Alternatively enjoy a sheep show at the Agrodome or cruise the Lake Rotorua paddle steamer.

Day 5 - Taupo to Auckland (280km)
Return to Auckland, with the option of stopping via the Waitomo Caves, home to the famous glow worms which line the underground cavern.
