Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon

A 3 day stopover combining the Ayers Rock Explorer with a stay at Kings Canyon.

Day 1: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) – Uluru (Ayers Rock)
On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm) you will be transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is spent touring Kata Tjuta, including a walk at Walpa Gorge. Travel to the sunset viewing area to enjoy nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine and watch the effect of the setting sun on the colour of Uluru. Don’t forget your camera!

Accommodation: Outback Pioneer Hotel (S), Desert Gardens Hotel (Sup) or Sails in the Desert Hotel (F), Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock) – Kings Canyon
This morning join the Uluru Sunrise, Climb and Base Tour or for the non-climbers, the Uluru Sunrise and Guided Cultural Walk. Both tours include a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Time is available to take an optional helicopter flight (own expense). This afternoon travel to Kings Canyon Resort.

Day 3: Kings Canyon
This morning join your guide for the rocky climb to the canyon rim for superb views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness, supportive footwear essential). Alternatively explore the canyon floor (an easier, shady walk). Travel on to Alice Springs or back to Ayers Rock Resort this afternoon.
