Whitsundays
The beautiful Whitsunday Islands lay off the Australian Coral Sea coast just north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Covered in ancient rainforest, they are fringed by white coral sand beaches.
Stunning Hamilton Island has a lively tropical island feel with a range of accommodation to suit all tastes. Resort-style hotels, charming bungalows and deluxe self-contained apartments are all within easy reach of the beaches and the many facilities.
Long Island is mostly National Park, with over 10 miles of walking trails. The delightful Long Island resort offers a great value island experience, with all meals and most activities included.
Most northerly, and exclusive, of the Whitsundays is Hayman Island, with secluded beaches and no day trippers to spoil the serenity. There's fine dining in its excellent restaurants and a renowned Spa Centre
If you prefer to visit the islands from the convenience of a mainland resort, Airlie Beach is the perfect location. As the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands, it's the centre for boating and sailing in the area, providing a number of inexpensive day trips to the Islands.
